We are currently seeking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading global Engineering firm who are a specialist manufacturer for equipment within the Oil & Gas industry. This new and exciting role is based at their Stockport office and is an excellent opportunity not to be missed out on.

Your new role

In your new role of Technical Sales Engineer, you will review all technical and commercial aspects of a RFQ’s for the manufacture and supply ensuring that all deviations from contract are defined at time of order. Prepare a valid technical sales quotation in line with the company’s standard terms and conditions of sale and where appropriate cost accurately and include any SPECIAL items at enhanced margins. Review sales contracts and orders checking for discrepancies between the company’s latest valid quotation, proposal drawings and customer’s specifications and expectations. Raise internal sales orders ensuring that profit margins and all non-standard commercial terms are understood, agree and all financial milestones are met. Supervise the preparation of the mechanical and electrical layout drawings for customer approval prior to detail design work. Inform purchasing or production engineering to raise purchase orders with sub-suppliers, particularly for long lead time items whilst at the same time mitigating all commercial and contractual risks. Support and manage all contract documentation, including but not limited to IOMI’s, Data Sheets and complete MRB (Manufacturing record Book) and limit the company’s exposure to final payments. Where appropriate supervise subcontractors during installation and commissioning of the equipment.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings to specify solutions. Have electrical awareness and understanding of Atex requirements and are biased towards technical/engineering proposals. In addition, you should have excellent analytical, prioritising and reporting skills as well as the Ability to network with and influence people both internally and externally in order to achieve a pre-defined outcome.
