An excellent primary school in Knowsley are working with Hays Education in order to find an exceptional teaching assistant to join their team for September 2022.

They are a one form entry school and were ranked 'GOOD' on their most recent OFSTED report.

Your new role
The successful candidate will join the school in September 2022 for a 1 year fixed term contract.

Your primary responsibility will be to help an autistic child in the schools Year 2 class. The child is in the higher ability group, but they can struggle with their concentration and socialisations with other students. It will therefore be your job to keep the child focused in class and support their interactions with other students at breaktimes.

The child can become frustrated when their routines are broken. They therefore need a teaching assistant who is extremely reliable with an excellent record of attendance and good time keeping skills.

In lessons you will work as part of a team with the teacher and two other part time Teaching Assistants.

The school are happy to be flexible with your work pattern, so if you have childcare or any other responsibilities, we will be able to negotiate this for you.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role, you must:

• Have recent experience working with primary school aged children (paid or voluntary)
• Experience working with SEN children is desirable
• Be a patient and compassionate person
• Have excellent time management skills
• Have an excellent record of attendance
