Teaching Assistants Required, Kirkham, Preston, Lancashire - Long-term Basis, Permanent
Your new company

Hays are working in partnership with a primary school in Kirkham, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant for the beginning of the new academic year (September 2022). The school is close-knit and friendly, with an established SLT and supportive Headteacher.

Your new role

In your new role as a Teaching Assistant, you will support the class Teacher with general day-to-day activity, including lesson planning and classroom preparation.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work 1:1 and in small groups with lower ability pupils, helping to bring them up to speed in core subjects like numeracy and literacy. In this role you will be trusted to operate intervention sessions, taking a small group out of the classroom each day for assistance. A knowledge of SEND conditions is desirable, as you may need to work on a 1:1 basis with the schools SEND registered pupils.

This role will begin in September on a long-term/permanent basis through Hays.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate must be confident working in a primary school environment. Ideally, you will be a qualified HLTA or Teacher, although non-qualified TA’s will be considered depending on experience. For those without qualification, you must have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children in the past 5 years. This can be in any professional environment, including nursery, school or out of school clubs.

A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential, but would be desirable. The school are keen to accept applicants of all backgrounds.

As a Hays Teaching Assistant, you will be paid a generous daily rate and receive ongoing support from one of our specialist Education Consultants. Additionally, you will gain access to world-class online training material and in-school support.
