Worcester Design Technology teaching role, October 2017 start, temporary to permanent opportunity


Hays Education are currently working with a friendly secondary school in Worcester to recruit an experienced Design Technology teacher to plan and deliver the current KS3 and KS4 curriculum to classes of up to 18 secondary pupils.

This is a successful secondary school, where pupils strive to achieve well and have high levels of respect for teaching staff. The school leaders work extremely hard to ensure all teaching staff are supported in their roles and quality resources are provided.

Hays are looking for candidates with experience delivering Resistant Materials and/or Engineering at KS4. The department consists of 3 specialist staff and 1 technician; ideally you will come from a background of leading a department and be confident with all aspects of the curriculum.

This is a long-term design technology teaching job to start in October 2017. In your new job you will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver the current DT curriculum to classes of KS3 and KS4 secondary pupils. The school work on a 2 week timetable of 25 teaching periods per week; in week 1, you will have 21 teaching lessons and in week 2, 19 teaching lessons.

To be successful in your new teaching job you must be an experienced and qualified teacher that holds QTS. You must have recent secondary teaching experience and have a strong knowledge of the current Design technology curriculum. It’s important that you are creative and inspired in your planning to ensure secondary pupils remain engaged.

This is a long-term teaching opportunity to start in October 2017 where there may be opportunity to apply for a permanent job later in the year. You will be joining a welcoming and successful secondary school that is led by a committed Head Teacher. The leadership team at this secondary school are extremely supportive and provide teaching staff with the adequate support and excellent teaching resources.
