Support Worker

Hays Social Care are looking for experienced Support Workers to support a client in Lisburn and Newry.

Your new role
As a Support Worker, you will encourage an interdependent way of living and actively encourage personal and professional development so that young people can reach their fullest potential. You will promote routine, education and training options with young people, identify the need for group work activities and facilitate groups to enhance personal and social development. You will provide practical and hands on support regarding budgeting, cooking, cleaning and running a home in conjunction with the young people’s support plans and work alongside other supported houses and services to promote organisational ethos and objectives.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position you will need to be NISCC registered, open to shift patterns, have 6 months relevant experience, have an understanding of homelessness, mental health and substance misuse, excellent team working skills, effective communication skills to deal with vulnerable service users, you will maintain a comprehensive and up to date written record of work undertaken and be committed to on going training. Previous experience of working in a supported housing or residential environment and being able to drive with access to a car is a bonus.
