Supported Housing Worker - based in Greater Manchester. Temporary to permanent opportunity, 37.5 hours a week

Your new company

You will be working for a North-West based accommodation and support provider, who help care leavers, people who are homeless and those currently at risk of losing their homes. This role is based within the Unaccompanied asylum-seeking Children’s service (UASC) and aims to support and empower service users, through proactive interaction in order to develop the skills they need to access and sustain a home in the long term.

Your new role

As a supported housing worker, you will be responsible for providing housing management support to a group of services users within a supported housing project. The service users may present complex needs and challenging behaviour, therefore excellent communication and patience is vital for the success of this role. Furthermore, you will get involved in developing individualised packages of support, ensuring they meet needs and ultimately deliver targeted outcomes for the service users. Finally, you will focus on delivering a proactive housing management service which enables them to meet requirements of their tenancy.

This is a temporary to permanent vacancy, full time at 37.5 hours 9.00am – 5.00pm with a flexible approach needed to meet the needs of the service users.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed you will need previous experience in a similar housing support position. As you will be interacting with many different people from diverse backgrounds your communication skills must be excellent. It is essential you have great empathy and compassion because the clients you will work with are often facing incredibly difficult life situations. You will have your own caseload which you will need to track the progress of therefore your organisational skills are key.
