By integrating CRISPR technology to engineer iPSCs, their aim is to pave new approaches with novel cell therapies, thus bringing significant improvement in the treatment of autoimmune and cancerous diseases.
Your new role
As a member of the Discovery Biology team, you will focus mainly on megakaryocyte differentiation, helping to build laboratory- based expertise in megakaryocyte and platelet biology. This will involve applying your knowledge in megakaryocyte biology to strengthen the capabilities of the team, mentoring other team members and liaising with programme leaders and team members to planning different assays.
A large part of the role will be to support in vitro megakaryocyte differentiation and characterisation work streams in alignment with team strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
What you need to do now
- PhD or MSc with experience in megakaryocytes or progenitors and their characterisation
- Experience differentiating either human or murine iPSCs/ HSCs to megakaryocytes
- ELISA, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence
- Experience with platelet aggregation and activation assays
- Familiarity with complex culture systems (3D matrices etc)
