Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a client side Construction Project Manager to join a Public Sector organisation based in Dorset.

The organisation is undertaking the construction of a brand new flagship development and require an experienced Project Manager to provide technical expertise from post-contract delivery phases onward.

As the Construction Project Manager, your job will be to act as the interface between the client and consultant and contracting teams. The project will focus on a multi-million pound new build scheme, delivered under a JCT Design and Build contract. In addition to this you will be required to have technical involvement in a variety of other projects within the organisation’s capital works programme.

This job offers great flexibility with 1 day a week in the office with the rest from home. Site visits will be required throughout the process as the project progresses.

Responsibilities

• Work closely and manage the relationship between the contractor and client
• Acting as an advisor to the end client on all technical construction matters throughout delivery commissioning and hand over phases of the project.
• Working in collaboration with inhouse project teams and the head of estates
• Liaising and engaging with key stakeholders, advising on progress and challenges from a technical perspective
• Working closely with the Employer’s agent to ensure employer’s requirements and design are adhered to and meet expectation.
• Supporting with, advising and managing a range of Capital Projects
• Reporting directly to the Capital Programme Manager

Requirements

• Experience of managing a variety of complex construction projects in excess of £10m
• A proven track record of working within a client side or consultancy environment
• Strong experience of delivering new build projects from post contract to completion
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and project management principles
• Proficient knowledge of JCT D&B contract forms
• Excellent levels of communication and stakeholder management skills.
