This role is pivotal to the organisation it is the first appointment in the UK.
The Senior Cloud Engineer focusses on system implementation and sustainment. In this role, you will participate in architecture discussions, implementations, integrations, and troubleshooting. Your expertise with Linux, Docker and Kubernetes will make you a trusted advisor to our technical team and our clients as they set up and configure the platforms for our AI system.
What you'll need to succeed
The product is an AI solution, using microservices in a containerized, highly available architecture, both on premises and in the cloud. As well as experience in Linux and containerisation, you will have expertise in public cloud, API integration, access and authentication management, and MongoDB/NoSQL. You will be hands-on as part of your role, deploying and patching implementations.
Customer success is a strong focal point and you should be able to interface professionally and effectively with a wide range of technology stakeholders in small to large enterprises, government, and outsourcers. You will be involved in architecture workshops, design reviews, status meetings, and troubleshooting sessions, and you will need very good communication and task management skills. You will work collaboratively in an agile and flexible way and will be an active mentor and participant in DevSecOps.
You will have an open and friendly communication style, be highly professional, and both internal and external contacts will find you to be reliable, responsive, and organized.
The organisation has experienced significant growth over the past 2 years and demands from clients is really high. Due to the system providing compliance and security technologies you will ideally have some government experience and be available for security clearance (or have it already). Experience working in Public Sector is beneficial but not essential.
You will need to embody the organisations values of ethical, hard work and integrity so that you are mindful of the impact of others and through having a sense of urgency you set high standards but most importantly be trusted to always do the right thing.
The skills for the roles require you to have strong experience in Linux Engineering and have worked with Docker or Kubernetes.

The role is a full-time permanent position, remote, preferably based in Edinburgh and salary for the role ideally sits between £75000 - £95000.
