Your new school
You new school is a wonderful mainstream primary school based on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon, public transport links are available but not very often, therefore this role would be suited to someone who has access to a vehicle or who love in the same village.

This is a full time role 08.30 - 15.30 Monday to Friday starting on January, 5th 2022

Your new role
You will be providing 1:1 support to a child who is in Reception - they have been held back a year and therefore should be in year 1. This role will be in and outside of the classroom, you will be supported by the teacher and SENDCo.

The child hasn't been officially diagnosed but is showing ASD traits, they do have an EHCP which the successful person will be using to assist with learning objectives.

The boy in question is adorable, doesn't use aggressive behaviour at all, however, speech and language is limited and sometimes he can become frustrated which is understandable. He understands brilliantly but can find it hard to show how he is feeling.
In the time he has been at this particular school he has come on leaps and bounds and is showing signs of progress - much more than what was expected.
He is taller than other children is his class and is therefore stronger.

Parents are extremely understanding and are happy that he is safe and well in school and any progress shown is amazing!

You do not need lots of SEN experience for this role, the school are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, with the realisation that he cannot be fixed but progress can be made with speech and language and making friends with peers, above all they need someone who is consistent and reliable as this little boy really needs this.
