SEND Learning Mentor - Special Needs Setting

Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a fantastic primary SEND school in Birmingham who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEND Learning Mentor to work 1:1 with pupils within the school. This role is to start in September 2022 and will continue on an ongoing basis. The school prides itself on its proactive and positive attitude and believe that every child deserves the right to inclusive and accessible education. They are seeking candidates with a “CAN DO” attitude that are reliable and passionate about the education of SEN pupils.

Your new role
The role is to support children with learning difficulties and disabilities on a 1:1 basis in their classroom lessons hosting intervention programmes aimed to offer these pupils more targeted support to suit their needs. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and assessment of the learning and development of the pupils. There will be a large focus on developing meaningful relationships with the pupils and being excited and positive about their achievements and learning.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have experience working with children within an SEN setting or with SEN children within a mainstream school. Experience of working with vulnerable children in any capacity will be considered.
Attitude and commitment are extremely important and essential traits that are needed for those wanting to apply.
