SEN Cover Teacher

Cover Teacher needed for SEN Primary School - South Birmingham

Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a SEN Primary School in South Birmingham looking to appoint a dedicated and passionate SEN Cover Teacher to work with them on a part-time basis. This role is to start in September and will continue on an ongoing basis potentially throughout the whole of the coming new academic year. The school has an extremely supportive and committed team of staff who aim to nurture and drive their pupils into believing in themselves and achieving in any aspect of the word. They have a strong family ethos and believe every child deserves the right to high-quality and accessible education.

Your new role
You will be responsible for the delivery of lessons and contributing to the assessment of the learning of the SEN pupils within the classroom. You will receive support from a team of teaching assistants and senior leadership within the school. There will be a large focus on supporting pupils with additional needs amongst their peers with an aim to build positive, meaningful relationships with the students and to develop the social integration.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have experience working with children within an SEN setting or with SEN children within a mainstream school. You will ideally have exposure to some SEN learning resources such as PECS, Makaton and Team Teach, although this is not always essential as training can be offered within the school for the right candidate.

Unqualified Teachers are also encouraged to apply for the role, as experience within the special needs sector can be as valuable as qualification.

What you'll get in return
Not only will you receive all the support you need from a Department for Education accredited recruitment expert, while working for Hays you’ll also enjoy a range of employee benefits including access to professional development training and holiday pay. You will also receive £250 in high street vouchers every time you recommend a friend to us*
