Your new company

HMP Erlestoke is a category C adult male prison, with a rough capacity of 500 inmates. It is notable for being the only prison in Wiltshire. You will be responsible for helping maintain the security standards at HMP Erlestoke.

Your new role

You will have a variety of duties which can include: monitoring CCTV, escorting contractors, patrolling the grounds, manning the entrance gate, stationing a wing etc. It will be working in a prison, supporting prison officers by maintaining an element of high-security and carrying out essential duties.

The position is requires flexible working and being available to work weekends and nights on a shift-rota basis. The night shift duties will vary slightly to day shift duties.

Rates of pay (all rates are inclusive of holidays):
£12.73/h standard shifts
£20.19/h weekday overtime
£24.75/h weekend/bank holiday overtime

What you'll need to succeed

The successful applicant does not require any experience as full training is provided, however a military or security background would be beneficial but not necessary.
You will need to be security conscious, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. You will also have good ability to work as a team to achieve goals with strong communication skills.

In order to be successful you'll also need to pass a security clearance procedure due to the nature of the role.
