If you are an experienced school SEND Administrator with SIMS experience then this job is for you. A large secondary school with an outstanding Ofsted report located in Lambeth is looking for a School SEND administrator with experience of school systems including SIMS and Microsoft systems to join the school SEND department. The working hours will be 8am to 4pm (Monday to Friday). This is an exciting opportunity for previous School SEND Administrators with SIMS experience to gain excellent experience and progress within the school setting. This role will start as a temporary post with the view of going long term and permanent for the right candidate with the right experience.

Your New Role

Your role will be based within the SEND Administration department working alongside the SEND administration team and the SENCO and you’ll be expected to work as a team as well independently, completing system and administration tasks, recording sensitive data onto the school SIMS and SEN system relating to children and pupils with special educational needs
You will:

  • Provide administrative support to the SENCO and the head of SEND.
  •  Input sensitive data regarding pupils with special educational needs 
  •  Use SIMS to maintain and input data · Assist with the timetabling of support · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · 
  • Arrange and attend meetings, collate and prepare documentation, as requested by the Head of SEND · 
  • To write and distribute letters for statutory meetings in relation to managing SEN students · 
  • To prepare files for new students and ensure contact details are up to date · 
  • Support the pastoral care for children, especially those that are vulnerable · Uphold and take ownership of the school’s vision and provide an outstanding service to all contacts, internally and externally 

What you’ll need to succeed

It is essential to have experience working as a school SEND administrator, and essential to that the wider school environment with experience of working with children. You must have a current DBS, be confident handling sensitive data relating to SEN and be able to multitask across a number of systems, be confident with school based software such as SIMS and be able to work as part of a team but also can take on initiative and work independently as and when required.
