Hays Social Care are proud to be working in partnership with a number of outstanding adult’s residential services in St Helens, as they require motivated and hard-working Support Workers for long term vacancies. The homes we are currently supporting care for vulnerable adults with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, mental health diagnosis, learning disabilities, and complex needs.

Your new role
As a Residential Support Worker, your day-to-day will involve working closely alongside the residents to promote their independence and build their self-esteem by taking them on days out, organising key appointments, and providing general support and structure to their lives. You will build strong constructive relations with residents as to understand their needs and background in turn this will ensure that they are at the forefront of all operations. Other duties will include but are not limited to, providing transport for the service users to ensure they have access to different provisions, general administrative duties including paperwork, days out including social events, shopping, swimming etc, therapy sessions, and most importantly encourage independence and build self-esteem.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role you must have a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience supporting vulnerable adults. Other desirable requirements are:
  • A full UK driving license is advantageous but not essential
  • Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent is advantageous but not essential
