Hays Social Care are working in partnership with an outstanding children’s EBD Home in Widnes as they require a motivated and hard-working Registered Manager to join their team. This home cares for children and young people with autism, learning disabilities, complex, and profound needs.
This provider will consider an experienced Deputy Manager looking to progress to Service Manager.
Your new role
As the Registered Manager, you will have a positive and driven attitude to motivate colleagues and junior staff of the home. You will not only support the staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure the children and young people receive the best possible care, but also understand the children and their background, ensuring that all needs are at the heart of operations. You will ensure that all staff adhere to the companies code of conduct by actively developing a high performing team, by upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, identifying service shortfalls and taking personal responsibility as to action said shortfalls, supporting employee development by identifying staff performance fails to meet company standard of care, and ensuring that all members of your new team are heard when voicing ideas, concerns, and opinions, setting and upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, and taking an active role in recruitment.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role, you must be willing to hold a full UK driving licence, hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care (or willing to work towards), an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Equivalent, be able to manage your own hours to meet the business needs, be able to take day-to-day charge of the home and be able to complete sleep in duties on a rota basis. You must also have experience in:
- A minimum of 24 months referenceable experience in a managerial post within children’s services in the past 5 years
- Managing a team
- Meeting the legal responsibilities of a service/home
- Caring for vulnerable children and young adults with learning difficulties, autism and/or complex needs
