Office Manager £25,000 - £32,000 Telford - hybrid working but travel to Yorkshire twice a month is required

Hays are working in conjunction with a large construction business in Telford who are looking for a competent Office Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a well established competent business professional.

Your new role
As Office Manager your role will involve:
  • Ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for our people and visitors to work in.
  • Be the key point of focus for all things office related.
  • Ensuring the efficient management of the office and deliver an admin service that meets the needs of the companies support functions.
  • Responsible for Managing office administrators including training, conduct, performance & attendance
  • Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings including all compliance and legislatory requirements are met. This role could also include leading or supporting on office refurbishment projects
  • Responsible for environmental policies within the office
  • Work with the IT department to ensure a user-friendly experience for our users
  • Responsibility for the front desk and looking after the offices including inductions, meeting & greeting
  • Ensuring office is kept clean and tidy and workstations and meeting rooms are set up correctly and working
  • Maintain and keep up to date the Office Safety File and all related documentation
  • Support for the directors
  • General administration tasks
  • Manage suppliers from scoping works, delivery, to performance management and payment (e.g. cleaning, maintenance, office suppliers)
  • Provide cover for other regional offices in Leeds and the Midlands
  • Office moral through organising and running office social & fun events

What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience of a similar role would preferable
  • Know what is and deliver good customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Courage to take ownership and work independently
  • Care about the job
  • Tolerance for routines and capability to build processes from scratch
  • Ability to keep calm and patient even in challenging situations to resolve immediate problems and deliver long term solutions
  • Ability to travel to Yorkshire twice a month.
  • Good communicator both written and verbal with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Having a positive and proactive customer focused attitude
  • IT literate, conversant in Office
  • Ideally be a trained first aider and fire marshal or the willingness to become trained
  • A strong ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to get things done through others
  • Managing suppliers
  • Financial control
  • Clean driving licence
