This nursery has a great reputation within the local area and is known for having high standards, recently being rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. The nursery has large grounds surrounding the nursery and encourages outside play. This nursery aims to provide an environment in which children are happy, cared for and given a wide range of activities suited to their individual developmental stages and needs. Working as a team this setting encourage the children to be happy, confident, independent individuals who are polite, respectful of others and their surroundings and have the necessary skills to enable them to develop further i.e. the ability to listen, to concentrate and most importantly to enjoy learning.

Your new role

The position is for an experienced nursery practitioner working 30 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 and 3:30 Monday to Friday. Within that time there is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and a discretionary paid 20-minute coffee break per shift.

As a nursery practitioner in the preschool room, you will have key children and will therefore be responsible to help support their development, working closely alongside parents and the rest of the staff to do this. Therefore, good communication skills and the desire to work well as a team is essential. 'Planning in the moment' where the observations focus on 'teachable moments' is encouraged, with all observations uploaded to Tapestry. Using your initiative is also encouraged within this job to ensure your colleagues are well supported and everything is kept at an ‘Outstanding’ standard.

What you'll need to succeed

A full level 2 or higher qualification would be desirable for this post. This nursery consistently strives to provide childcare of the highest quality and have made a firm commitment to embedding a Communication Friendly ethos across the whole nursery which results in a calming and purposeful learning environment. The nursery aims to provide a home from home feel for the children and staff.
