Your new company
Working as a Licensing Officer for this borough you will get to work outdoors, facing new situations everyday as part of their Enforcement team, covering the major Thames bridges in the area.
Your new role
You will enforce street trading legislation on London’s main bridges in the afternoon and evenings on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, to help tackle the increasing amount of illegal street trading going on. You will be interacting directly with offenders as well as educating members of the public. You will be responsible for the enforcement of legislation associated with the areas of work within the remit of the licensing service which will involve producing the necessary evidence and documentation for legal services, interviewing alleged offenders and giving evidence on behalf of the Corporation where necessary. Working closely with colleagues from the Police in identifying risk associated with licensed premises and carry out joint visits with the Police and other multi-agency teams.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to work quickly and efficiently as decisions need to be made promptly. Having worked in a previous role with an aspect of enforcement is a necessity, with confrontation likely to be a regular part of the job. Knowledge of current legislation is not needed as training will be given. You will need to be confident and assured of your own abilities to deal with offenders, whilst also being able to work in Central London on the below stated times and days, mainly out of the office patrolling the bridges of the surrounding area.
What you'll get in return
A guaranteed 16 month contract, with potential to go permanent afterwards, as well as a competitive pay rate. Work will be out around the area 12pm-8pm, Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun. This is a great opportunity to work with a lively atmosphere, with work changing day-to-day.
