Your new company
A central UK NHS Foundation Trust including outreach clinics and establishments used in the course of Trust business. They currently have a need for an interim Head of Legal Services for a minimum of six months.

Your new role
As the Head of Legal Services, you will provide and manage a dedicated legal service across both hospital sites, managing a workload of Inquest and clinical and non-clinical claims. You will work closely with instructed solicitors/ barristers and NHS Resolution; liaising with the HM Coroners and their officers in the management of inquests; dealing with the more complex police enquiries; providing support and legal advice to staff; assisting in the drafting of documents for legal purposes; responding to other general and legal enquires; and providing regular information to the relevant meetings and Executive team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will have previous experience of managing a legal team/line management experience and are confident in taking large amounts of responsibility in managing a team to meet Trust needs. You will have significant experience as a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive, and have a high degree of practical experience of providing legal Court advocacy (preferably at inquests as per desirable criteria, although equivalent advocacy experience will be considered) and experience of giving medico-legal advice to clinicians.

You will receive a competitive rate with the likelihood of an extension after six months. The role does offer hybrid working, three days a week in the office/two days working from home.
