Head Legal Cashier (12-16m MAT Cover) - UK Law Firm - Central London (Hybrid) - Up to £50,000
Your new company
You will be joining a leading UK Law Firm as their Head Legal Cashier on a 12-16m Fixed Term Contract basis. Part of a large, busy finance team, you will report into the Financial Controller and be supported by highly experienced colleagues who will be there to support your transition into the company. Based in their Central London offices at least 3 days a week, you will have the chance to work from home for the remaining two days.
Your new role
In your new role, you will lead of team of 3 Legal Cashiers, monitoring their day to day performance and conducting regular review. You will be responsible for processing standing orders, processing bank transfers/chaps payments, carrying out client to office transfers on a daily basis, processing land registry payments, checking rolling fee notes and ensuring compliance with SAR. You will be responsible for the payment of Partner drawings/staff expenses and clearing residual client account balances on a regular basis.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need at least five years of legal cashiering experience in a law firm, and have ideally managed/supervised at least two team members. You will have extensive experience ensuring compliance with SRA Rules and be an organised, methodical and driven individual who can work under pressure and adhere to strict, tight and conflicting deadlines. You will have fantastic interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You will have experience with a legal finance system, ideally Aderant, Elite or SOS. You will be competent with the use of Excel to an intermediate level.
