Are pioneering cutting edge technology to revolutionise connectivity to solar energy. The company are backed by significant investment to build a 70 acre cable manufacturing site at Hunterston as part of this international green energy project with future orders also already booked for other global projects.

The company aim to build a world class HVDC subsea cable manufacturing centre in North Ayrshire where this role will be based.

Your new role
Will evolve over time as there are several phases to this company and site development. The leadership team are keen to ensure that the future FM of the site is involved at the very inception of the planning and construction process so they can provide insight and input to the future state of the site. Being involved from the start will also allow the individual over time to hire and shape their own team as well as be part of the construction and manufacturing commissioning process which will be invaluable in future years running and maintaining the site.

The very initial phases will include

  • Public liaison (prior to and during the construction phase).
  • Liaising with procurement identifying services which are required within the local community during the construction period.
  • Development and management of framework agreements.
  • Be involved in the design of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
During the Build Phase
  • Managing outsourced services, working with service providers during the construction phase to resolve any issues in the local community.
  • Liaising with the main contractor making them aware of the feedback from the public and the actions taken to remediate any real issues.
  • Provide input to the facility design
Managing the purpose build facility:
  • Ensuring the fabric of the factory and office buildings both externally and internally are maintained and serviced to a high standard in accordance agreed budgets.
  • Being responsible for all the health and safety compliance onsite, including that of third party services providers and maintenance records. Ensuring all asset registers, safety plans, accident & incident reports and log books are updated and compliant in accordance with all Health and Safety requirements.
  • Monitoring the key performance indicators and taking remedial action to ensure the required standards are maintained for all factory and office buildings.
  • Manage major work programmes on site, acting as the liaison point for all parties.
  • Build a facilities team and mange direct and outsourced service providers

What you'll need to succeed
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • 5 years previous facilities management (FM) experience within a factory site environment, including line Management responsibility for Company personnel, third party contractors management and management of service agreements or frameworks.
  • MES experience desirable but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT literate, together with an understanding and experience of industry specific IT Applications.
  • High degree and knowledge reference of Health and Safety legislation, environmental protection requirements and ideally IOSH or NEBOSH qualified
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work within a team and under own initiative with excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • BIFM qualification desirable
