JOB TITLE: Customer Support Technician
JOB LOCATION: Stamford outskirts
JOB SALARY: up to £22000
JOB NOTES: work from their PE9 offices 2 days per week then work from home 3 days per week, 37.5 hours per week, on call 1 week in 10

Your new company
Do you enjoy working with computers and helping people? Our client is the UK’s leading provider of specialist EPoS systems to the independent retail sector. Their dominant position in the industry is largely down to their best-in-class support, delivered by a passionate, talented in-house support team and the time is right to add to the team.

Your new role
Your job will be to work directly with customers to educate them on features, diagnose issues and carry out remote remedial work to software. Day-to-day, they work with Linux (Debian) and MySQL and this is a great opportunity for those with skills or an interest in these areas. Every member of the support team also receives direct support from their colleagues, supervisors and management, so a problem for you can be solved by all.

You will work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm with an hour for lunch but one week in 10, you'll be "on call" which means you'll have the company mobile phone and Mon - Fri you will work 7am - 9am and then again 5pm to 10pm and you'll cover the week end so you'll get time off in lieu for that.

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for someone with a customer service background who is patient, kind and enthusiastic but also has a bit of a tech background so previous experience in 1st or 2nd line support would be welcome but its not a deal-breaker. If you have an interest in gaming, programming or you did an IT degree, your application will be welcomed.
