Cover Supervisor

School class Cover supervisor, term time job in Rotherham

Your new company

Our client is a vibrant school based in Rotherham who are raising the expectations of their pupils. The experienced and effective leadership team have developed a noticeable mutual respect with their students and this is exemplified by good behaviour throughout the school and rising aspirations and achievements.

Your new role
Due to planned and unplanned staff absence, every high school has in place additional teaching support roles; individuals who can lead a class at short notice and supervise students in working on planned materials. This school has a small team of such support staff and due to staff development and internal promotion, they are looking to attract an additional member to their team.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal applicant will be working as or have previously worked as a cover supervisor in a high school and have enjoyed being a part of a busy team and a varied and busy working day.
If you do not have this experience but have worked with groups of children perhaps as a sports coach or Guide or Scout leader for example and would like a permanent role in a school, your application will also be attractive.
Finally, if you are a recent graduate and have decided that the world of education is for you but you do not have experience of working with this age group but you do have a passion for supporting students and have a positive and engaging attitude - you may qualify for the Hays Cover Supervisor training programme.

What you'll get in return
The successful applicant will join a small friendly team who support the wider teaching staff and senior leadership team in supporting their children in achieving their best outcomes. Several of the cover supervisors in the school in the past have been developed further and supported in teacher training. The school has free on site car parking and outstanding facilities including sports, gym and canteen.
