The DBS is the public agency responsible supporting employers make safer recruitment decisions by barring individuals who pose a risk to vulnerable groups from working on volunteering in certain roles.

We have exciting plans ahead, including the development of two new functions for the DBS – Commercial Development and Strategic Supplier Relationship Management. We are embarking on an exciting journey to transform the organisation.

About the role
This is truly an exciting time to join the DBS, this role will report to the Head of Commercial Development (Marketing) and you will support with the implementation of the annual marketing plan. This will include internal marketing, external marketing and digital communications.

As Commercial Marketing Officer you will contribute to the delivery of market leading content and campaigns, to the right audience, at the right time in a collaborative, agile and proactive environment.
You will play a key role in engaging with a wide range of business sectors, increasing the visibility of the DBS and improving our knowledge of their needs. Your role will consist of managing campaigns across multiple marketing channels aimed at raising awareness and engagement in our products, services and safeguarding aims.

Your marketing expertise will increase the reach and engagement of our content as well as help people find the most relevant and useful information for them. You will contribute to the creation of content designed to educate, inform and engage with employees in specific market sectors or those interested in our products and services.
You will contribute to our safeguarding mission by designing, activating and refining multichannel campaigns to help individuals make higher quality barring referrals.

With support from the wider department, you will broaden the understanding of the Commercial Development and Marketing function and our capabilities within the DBS, amplifying our presence and encouraging collaboration on ideas and projects with other departments.
• Contribute to the delivery of the DBS Commercial Marketing, and Products and Services Plans and their aims, objectives, and activities.
• Work effectively and efficiently as part of the DBS Commercial Marketing Team with the Head of Commercial Development (Marketing) and other Team members
• Producing and commissioning content to be used in marketing campaigns and partnerships in specific business sectors
• Managing multichannel marketing campaigns from conception through to delivery and post campaign analysis
• Developing new materials to support other departments within the DBS
• Increasing sector engagement and heightening awareness of the DBS by delivering marketing campaigns and building relationships with key stakeholders
• Managing marketing budgets and refining campaigns based on analysis of campaign results and response
• Support the organisation-wide socialisation and networking of the Commercial Department and its mission to make the DBS more business-like and competitive by providing commercial development marketing research and intelligence analysis, advice and guidance.

About you
You will have previous experience in a marketing department and the ability to manage campaigns simultaneously. To be considered for this opportunity you will have skills across the marketing mix.
Ideally, you will have previously worked in a large matrix environment. Public sector or private sector experience will both be considered.
A degree or qualification in the relevant field will be looked upon favourably.
The successful candidate will be able to both work effectively and efficiently in a team and develop team working, engage others, and support the required KPI and wider OneDBS performance outcomes.
You will demonstrate knowledge of business development, commercial marketing, and product and service development and delivery.
