This role sits within the City Housing team of a large local authority delivering building safety for their asset management and maintenance teams. Your new role

The Building Safety Manager’s role is to ensure the safety of residents in the council’s portfolio, mostly high-rise, high-risk sites. You will be responsible for the development, management and distribution of information in relation to the design, maintenance and construction of high-rise residential buildings. You will have oversight of all processes including emergency procedures and act as point of contact for all occupiers and residents for Fire and Structural Safety issues. You will take on the role of being the ‘Responsible Person’ under the Regulatory Reform Order, Water Hygiene and Asbestos management.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a recognised construction related qualification, and in-depth knowledge of the building safety management framework. You will hold a Fire Risk Assessment qualification from a certified body and demonstrable track record in managing building safety and risk. You will need significant experience managing fire risk assessment in complex multi-use buildings and excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills.

What you'll get in return

This is a long-term temporary contract with excellent daily rates of pay. You will be able to manage your own diary and work flexibly on site, in the offices and from home as appropriate.
