Your new company
We are currently seeking to recruit an Applications Engineer to join a long established, multi-national manufacturing company based in Greater Belfast. Our client is specialist manufacturer who provide key safety equipment to the aerospace and marine sector and are seen as a local employer of choice. This position is on an initial 6-month fixed term contract with potential for extension or move to permanent depending on business needs.

Your new role
In your new role of Applications Engineer you will provide specialist engineering support to design while working to integrate and/or improve technical customer solutions. You will work closely with commercial and sales colleagues to understand the initial scope of the solution, to produce detailed technical drawings, review technical specifications and support the sales process. You will be expected to analyse detailed proposal information, to specify the methods, process steps, and the plant, machinery and equipment required to meet the customer design needs. As the Applications Engineer you will produce initial specifications and drawings to support proposal development and costing while also building a knowledge bank of materials, specifications, and drawings to drive efficiency in the engineering process. You will work very closely with customer on major projects and produce 2D layout designs for marine customers.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing the Application Engineer role you should be coming with a Degree in Engineering and previous experience in a design related customer facing engineering role. You should have experience of creating 2D layout designs and experience of providing quotes based on customer specifications. Applicants should have experience of taking a lead role on projects and liaising with several internal departments.
