Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and global Aviation/Engineering Group to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Accounts Payable Team Leader based in Staverton, Gloucestershire with remote/office hybrid working. An exciting opportunity within a well-known and leading Organisation where you will supervise a team of two – three Accounts Payable Officers, along with being involved in process improvement and system projects. Your new role
Your key duties will involve managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the AP Team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices/credits received – approximately 2,000 per month. Ensuring that non purchase order invoices obtain the necessary level of authorisation, building relationships with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries, reconciling supplier statements and GRNI, along with weekly payment runs for all currencies. You will be involved in intercompany processes, accounts payable reporting, KPI reporting and identify/implement process improvement opportunities. You will support the integration of new systems, provide Accounts Payable services for the Business Unit including monthly/quarterly reviews with Financial controllers/Directors, and support the Head Of Transactional Finance with ad-hoc duties.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on and exciting Permanent Accounts Payable Team Leader role you will need experience within a similar position, strong coaching and people management skills, accounts payable and general accounting experience, with key communication skills. You will be analytical with strong attention to detail and numerical skills, process/system improvement and implementation skills, along with knowledge of various financial systems and key MS excel skills. It would be advantageous but not essential, if you have ERP system experience, SAP knowledge, Shared Service experience and have an understanding of the purchase to pay process. Ideally you would have worked within a Global Business with foreign currency processes.
