Location Hybrid– (Once a week to Southwark, London)
Contract 6 Months
Rate £550 per day through umbrella

Job Overview
To provide a variety of senior level legal support to Consumer Business Unit i.e., Pay Monthly, Pay as You Go, Voxi, Internet of Things and Home Broadband on all FCA regulated products and propositions.
Key responsibilities
  • To work with the Consumer Legal Team to deliver excellent legal advice and support to the Consumer Business Unit in a way that embodies values of speed, simplicity, and trust.
  • To act as the key point of contact within the Consumer Legal Team for regulated mobile products, keeping Consumer Terms and Conditions, consumer credit documentation and internal briefing notes up-to-date and provide ongoing training to ensure that key stakeholders engage as efficiently as possible and in a way that manages key legal and regulatory risks.
  • To support the Consumer Business Unit to launch new products and propositions in a legally and regulatory compliant way.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that the Consumer Business Unit understands what is required to comply with relevant law and regulation and deliver succinct and precise advice and risk-based reports to senior stakeholders to facilitate decision making.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved quickly and escalating to Lead Counsel where appropriate.
  • To advise other members of the Legal team on issues relating to regulated consumer credit and payment services.
  • To collaborate effectively with other parts of Consumer Legal Team, the UK Legal Team, the Regulatory Team, the Compliance Team and the Group Legal Team.
  • To keep up to date with recent legal and regulatory developments and emerging legal issues that could affect UK operations, and advising the business accordingly.
Experience Needed
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister (4 years+ PQE) with high quality post qualification experience in Consumer or Regulatory law (Consumer credit/FCA regulation knowledge is desirable) and a good level of general legal knowledge. Any reference to PQE is a guide only, and any applicant who can demonstrate the required skill set will be considered regardless of PQE.
  • University honours degree (second class or better).
  • Strong time management skills with ability to prioritise and manage demanding workload.
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Good decision-making skills and ability to identify and communicate key risks to internal customers and UK legal management team.
  • Excellent communicator with a professional approach and an ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, logical, and convincing manner (both in writing and in person) to senior and junior stakeholders.
  • Sound commercial judgement.
  • Ability to build and maintain an excellent network of client contacts across the business.
