Measurement Specialist
We are currently recruiting for A Measurement Specialist in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering. The role is a long term and ongoing, 12 month rolling Agency opportunity for one of of our high end luxury automotive clients based in Chichester. This is a Site- Based role that is 40 hours per week, with a little hybrid flexible working (after the initial training period). The pay is circa £21.30, depending on experience.

You will be part of the Metrology team that works on complex measuring topics, whilst utilising a variety of analysing equipment and associated software to produce detailed measurement reports.

Key Tasks:
  • Complex Geometric root cause analysis for whole vehicle, assemblies, single parts
  • Comprehensive reporting of issues.
  • Monitoring of series production vehicles & parts
  • New model Geometric launch validation
  • Support the completion of building of 50 new model and capture data is really important
  • Painted body and finished vehicle measurements
  • Presentation of results to customer and supporting functions (bespoke features)

  • Complex problem Analysis
  • Performs complex geometric measurement
  • Series production
  • To ensure problems of a geometric nature are fully understood in an efficient manner so that rework / scrap costs are kept to a minimum. Present finding to Engineers and General managers
  • New model launches
  • To ensure total vehicle geometric performance ahead of SOP

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Essential:
  • 3D Geometry and alignment principles (GD&T)
  • Good working knowledge Polyworks software
  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operation (Tactile & Scanning)
  • Experience using laser trackers and portable measuring devices (Faro arm etc)
  • 1st principles measurement methods

Desirable but not essential:
  • Automotive experience
  • CATIA V5 or higher
  • Experience of 8D and Ishikawa
  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing/metrology environment
