Your new role
This role is supporting the rest of the communications team through a busy period, due to increased workload. You will be working across a variety of departments and helping them execute communications plans. You will be responsible for managing relationships with local/national media and monitoring the reputation of the organisation. It will be your opportunity to engage audiences with proactive / reactive communications and devise stories of interest. There is a need to work closely with the senior leadership team and give advise on day-to-day communications and content scheduling for stakeholder engagement.

You will also have line management duties for up to two members in the team. There will be management duties of the organisations media relations service, including crisis communications and responding to urgent enquiries. You will be copywriting day to day across all channels for the organisation and editing completed work of the wider communications department.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have clear, demonstrable experience of taking complex ideas and presenting them into a simple message. It is vital that you have media relations experience, and crisis communications examples given will be desirable. Your writing ability will be exemplary and you will be able to change your style to engage a variety of audiences. You must be able to use different channels such as: web, social, newsletters etc. The successful applicant will show creative flair with their content and be able to develop communications strategy.

IT: Wordpress, Social Media Platforms, Microsoft applications, photo and video editing software

You will be paid between £22 - £26 per hour, depending on experience and the role will run for six months. Flexible working options are available and our client is looking for the ideal candidate, as soon as possible.
