SQL Developer

SQL Developer/Leeds/3 month contract
Our client is a well-established, Public Sector organisation who are currently on the market for an experienced SQL Developer on a 3 month contractual basis with the strong possibility for an extension.

You will be working closely with Senior Data Analysts and Data Architects to produce deliverables in the following areas:
  • Develop databases – design and develop databases to specifications and standards.
  • SQL programming – develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL.
  • ETL development – design and build data transformation routines and orchestration solutions.
  • Optimisation - analyse and tune SQL queries and physical database designs to ensure solutions are performant.
  • Data consumption requirements – working with the business to understand reporting landscape and requirements.
  • Documentation – production of level design and accompanying documentation to ensure solutions are supportable.

As a seasoned SQL Developer, you must have the following experience:
  • 5 years experience as a database developer or similar role.
  • 3 years experience of T-SQL programming.
  • 3 years experience using MS SQL Server to deliver solutions including expert knowledge of Management Studio, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS.
  • Experience of delivering quality data solutions that meet business requirements and align to high level designs.
  • Good understanding of data governance and data quality standards and principles, and experience in capturing data quality rules
  • Experience with creating and maintaining data dictionaries/data catalogues
  • Attention to detail and experience of translating data requirements into quality deliverables.
  • Good understanding of data models and the use of them to support the capture of data requirements.

Desirable experience:
  • MSCE certified
  • Azure data stack experience, ie Data Factory, Data Bricks, are desirable but not essential.
  • Finance, HR or SAP experience beneficial.
