Senior Java & Guidewire Developer

Insuretech | FTSE 250 | Senior and lead role in an experienced dev team
This FTSE 250 insurer is seeking a heavy-weight Senior Java & Guidewire Developer to play a lead role in it's large and experienced development team. You'll be joining a business with an enviable track record, with career progression opportunities available that are tricky to match in Sussex.

While the business is in the midst of a digital transformation scheme, the current situation has accelerated it. You'll be joining a team working on business-critical projects, working with modern technologies to improve the firms capabilities. It's exciting work - they're pivoting from an insurance business to an insuretech firm, and this team is right at the centre of it.

This role will suit an experienced Senior Java Developer with demonstrable hands-on experience in Guidewire within a large and complex organisation. The team is full of talented Software Engineers but they rely on 3rd party partners too much when it comes to Guidewire - the business wants to bring this inhouse and retain the expertise in the team.

This is a very high profile role with ample room to grow your skills and reputation. You'll be a key senior engineer in a business that is all about technology. You'll be an influential stakeholder, helping to shape and implement the road map of a major insurer that still has plenty of room to grow.

In return, you'll receive a competitive salary (the advertised band has room for negotiation, but you'll need to demonstrate why), an annual bonus scheme, a healthy car allowance, an excellent pension plan, a generous holiday allowance and excellent flexible benefits.

As with most businesses, you'll be working remotely for the foreseeable future. As we approach normality, you'll be expected to visit the office from time to time. The ambition is for the team operate as a virtual team, but the business isn't there quite yet - if you have requirements or conditions to consider the role, such as 1 day a week or month in the office, let us know and we'll put them forward to the business with your application. The most important thing to the hiring manager is to find experienced commercial devs who are experts in Guidewire and Java ecosystems.

Interested? Apply now. The first stage is an informal conversation where you'll be able to find out if the role is for you.
