Content Editor

5-month Content Editor position for a leading public sector organisation in Leeds
Your new company

This organisation is a research powerhouse that has a real impact on the world in cultural, economic and societal ways. You will be working for an organisation which is dedicated to improving the lives of people around the world and prides itself on the diverse and inclusive culture which is at the heart of it's ethos.

Your new role

Have you ever been onto a website and found it painfully hard to navigate? Compare that with a beautifully designed site you've used where your journey was impeccable and you found what you were looking for with minimal effort. Isn't there such a difference?

As Content Editor, you will know what good looks like when it comes to accessibility. And as part of a small, dedicated project team you will be brought in to do just that - update a set of high priority websites to help the organisation meet new public sector website accessibility legislation.

Your day to day will include:

  • advising stakeholders across the organisation on their content and ensuring it meets the need of its audiences
  • editing and writing clear, jargon-free copy for the sites
  • using the organisations Content Management System (CMS) to update and structure content
  • training and guiding staff who are using the CMS

What you'll need to succeed

Above all you will be an exceptional copywriter and editor with a keen eye for detail and the ability to edit content for a variety of audiences. You will also have good, hand-on experience of working with various Content Management Systems.

Technical understanding of websites and content management and knowledge of web accessibility standards would be great too, but these aren't deal breakers.

What you'll get in return

You will be part of a fast-paced, driven project team with a very clear set of goals and the opportunity to see the amazing impact of your work in a relatively short amount of time.

In addition to this you will receive an impressive salary and benefits package.
