Your new role

This position will require an Inventory and Planning Specialist able to facilitate and drive results in a demanding environment and leveraging strong interpersonal. This role will be to build upon and work closely with Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning processes across the business to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns and working capital. The role entails operating with a high degree of autonomy, whilst contributing to and exceeding our profit, cost saving and inventory objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Identify and implement planning and inventory opportunities for improvement and maintain standards of best practice across all processes
  • Analyse supply and demand issues and facilitate resolution throughout the supply chain.
  • Transact all daily requirements against the tactical demand portfolio
  • Build into the planning and inventory process risk mitigating approaches to manage suppler performance variation
  • Create planning and inventory assumptions, communicate key conclusion to stakeholders and perform follow up of the actions to the pre-agreed schedule
  • Recommend optimal inventory levels at various stages in the supply chain in order to achieve customer satisfaction levels as well as mitigate inventory exposure
  • Execute all areas of the inventory and planning process to provide an optimum customer service level and working capital performance as defined by the organisation’s business operating plans and strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with SIOP to ensure the demand consensus process delivers an agreed upon, workable volume forecast (mid and long term); ensure gaps and overlaps are addressed, scenarios are completed, and issues appropriately escalated to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure that the appropriate inventory data and analysis on performance is available and accurate to be reviewed
  • Assist in quantifying and defining scope for capacity, resource, logistics, and supply chain planning
  • Meet the key business process systems selection, implementation, and execution, document and share “best practice” methods, processes and ideas across the business’s supply chain operations to drive continuous improvements in all aspects of business operations
Work to reduce the cost of sales and operations planning, recommending improvements to procedures, contracts and agreements
