The municipal governing body of the City Of London is looking to hire a Operations and Administration Manager to provide professional leadership and management in co-coordinating the cross functional aspects of market business.

Your new role

The Operations and Administration Manager will be responsible for;

  • Managing all aspects of operational Administrative Support, Facility Management, Risk Management, Human Resource, and Financial Management matters for the market, liaising with Central departments and other contacts.
  • To deputise for the Superintendent and to deal with the day to day running of the market including attending meetings as appropriate, replying to correspondence, enquiries, on behalf of the Superintendent on relevant matters.
  • Provide professional support and advice to the Superintendent and management team.
  • To maintain professional relationships with external bodies.
  • Responsible for provision of risk management for the division, including risk evaluation, control techniques, business impact analysis.
  • Prepare written reports, correspondence, briefings, and deal with complaints and issues that may arise with respect to all aspects of the management and service provision.
  • To ensure full Performance Appraisals are undertaken and recorded for all staff, including half yearly reviews.
  • Manage the Landlord tenant works change approval process in tandem and consultation with the Market Head of Maintenance and City Surveyor.
  • To be responsible for any operational issues raised by all stakeholders.
  • Undertake responsibility for day-to-day monitoring and reconciliation of tenant accounts, receipt of payments, payment of creditors, approval of expenditures on CBIS.

What you'll need to succeed

My clients is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage a busy, challenging operational delivery environment to deputise for the Market Superintendent in their absence, to provide excellent customer service by improving and sustaining key performance standards. Candidates must have operational management experience combined with hands on provision of effective finance and business support services within a large and complex organisation. You will need working knowledge of H&S, combined with experience of dealing with commercial traders and matters relating to landlord and tenant relationships. Strong inter-personal and diplomacy skills are necessary for day-to-day dealings with high level individuals both within and outside of the organisation.

What you'll get in return

This is a full time role paying £30.96/hour Premium PAYE or £35.57/hour Umbrella rate.
