Recovery Coordinator/Worker

Recovery worker/coordinator contract work in Central London

Your new company

You will be working with a leading health and care charity who work with individuals, families that are affected by drugs, alcohol, crime, homelessness, domestic abuse and antisocial behaviour. The contract is to start asap – ongoing. Working hours are: Mon- Fri 9-5pm .

Your new role-specific responsibilities

To support service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey.

To act as main care coordinator overseeing assigned groups of service users.

To provide advocacy for access to partnership services.

To work with service users to support social (re)integration.

Triage assessment and onward referral to a range of treatment/community support agencies.

Work with prescribing clinicians to support substitute prescribing regimes to improve social


To provide health education especially in regard to harm minimisation, blood borne viruses and overdose prevention.

To assist and carry out appropriate screening processes including DBST, urine and saliva tests (after completion of appropriate training or demonstration of relevant experience).

To carry out key harm reduction strategies such as running of the Needle Exchange and distribution of Naloxone (after completion of appropriate training).

To support the smooth running of the service, by contributing to tasks such as reception, duty cover, and clinical duties on an ad hoc basis.

To carry out risk assessments and risk management.

To update and maintain records.

What you'll need to succeed

Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services.

Understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Be IT competent.

Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative.

Excellent team working and interpersonal skills.
