Administrative position working for the Commercial Services team at a leading University based in East London

The Commercial Services teams are responsible for the provision of the directly managed residential accommodation, commercial events, campus catering & hospitality and the nursery provision for students and staff. The teams also work in partnership with external services and providers to facilitate access for staff and students to private sector managed accommodation. The common purpose of all Commercial Services provided is to enhance the student, staff and visitor experience at the university.

Your new role

Reporting to the Assistant Director and working with service heads, you will responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective administrative support, diary and meeting management, email monitoring for the Assistant Director and general administrative support for the wider management team.

You will provide a customer focused service, responding appropriately to challenging and conflicting demands, and ensuring that robust processes and monitoring systems are followed.

The role is to liaise with other Administrators within the Directorate and to support effective internal and external communication as well as the production and timely sharing of reports, minutes and other documents as may be from time to time required. You will occasionally be tasked with project-based work in keeping with the seniority of the post.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role you will have previous experience in a commercial services role or have a strong background performing administrative positions in the higher education sector. Furthermore, you will have excellent administrative and customer service skills as well as being a completer and finisher of tasks.

In return you will be rewarded with a very competitive salary starting from £27,000, with scope for more depending on your experience. The role could also become permanent for the right candidate so longer term career progression is also a benefit to this position.
