Due to maternity, a lovely primary school located in North Somerset is looking for a Business Assistant to begin work in November on a full-time basis. Your new role

Starting in November 2019, a full-time temporary Business Assistant job has become available. Required until the end of the academic year. Your main responsibilities will be to promote a friendly, inviting and professional and courteous environment as the first point of contact for visitors to the school. To answer incoming telephone calls, responding to requires for information and referring messages on as appropriate. To ensure school email is checked daily and forwarded as necessary and deleting spam/junk mail. To undertake routine administrative and clerical tasks e.g. word processing, data inputting, maintenance of spreadsheets, filing, photocopying, upkeep of generic forms and various other standard letters. To maintain filing systems. To maintain ParentPay records, including accurate lunch numbers. To input data on computerised systems to maintain staff and pupil records and other school databases including attendance, contacting parents/guardians as necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate would have experience of working in an office environment. Experience of developing and implementing office administrative systems. Experience of HR administrative systems. Knowledge of school systems e.g. FMS, SIMS. Knowledge of data protection requirements. Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of programmes. Ability to convey advice and information clearly and concisely. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key contacts. Ability to organise and motivate staff. Ability to relate well with children and parents. You will be confident at following through on tasks and resolving enquiries. Have a positive attitude to change. Can work collaboratively and develop relationships with internal key contacts.
