Health & Safety Officer required for 12-month MAT leave cover for a manufacturing firm in Co. Tyrone

Experienced Health and Safety Officer required for a 12-month MAT leave cover contract working for a successful manufacturing firm in Co. Tyrone. With an international customer base and a commitment to high quality & efficiency this established manufacturer is looking for a high calibre Health & Safety professional to join the team.

Your new role
The Health & Safety Officer will support the business to improve the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of the company and therefore ensure that they are compliant with legislative requirements. The Health & Safety Officer will develop and implement the Health & Safety policy and management arrangements to ensure all working practices are safe. The Health & Safety Officer will conduct risk assessments and reviews, including COSHH, Environmental impact and Manual Handling and develop subsequent safe systems of work. The Health & Safety Officer will manage the training matrix for all employees to ensure training needs are met, from induction to safe working practices to developmental learning. The Health & Safety Officer will develop and maintain the company’s ISO standards, ensuring compliance with the standards and with relevant legislation. The Health & Safety Officer will complete regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HSE requirements and draw up corrective action plans with area supervisors to address identified non-compliances.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role of Health and Safety Officer you must have recent / relevant Health & Safety experience in a similar role, preferably within Manufacturing or Engineering. You will be NEBOSH certified and be a competent professional with a sound working knowledge of HSE legislation and handling health and safety issues.
