Job Summary

The statutory fire and rescue service for London is looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their Central Programme Office and manage 8 projects within their Community Risk Programme. Your new role The project manager will be responsible for;
  • The management of allocated projects within to ensure that project objectives are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • To oversee project implementation plans, assessing relevant critical paths, project time-scales, cost implications and constraints. Oversee the risk and issues management process, taking lead responsibility for relevant risks and issues.
  • Manage the progress of projects from initiation stage, through development to completion.
  • Develop and implement project plans and project activities.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
  • Oversee work packages.
  • Ensure all project documentation specified by the programme is maintained and updated.
  • Report regularly to the project board and programme manager.
  • Enable the development of good practice.

Skills and experience required

My client is looking for someone who has previous experience of project management. Experience in managing major, multi-disciplinary projects to deliver on time and within budget using project management methodologies is required. There must be a level of experience in managing projects from the initiation stage through to completion and close, taking account of all risks, constraints and inter-dependencies with other projects and activities. A demand for good interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships, key organisational skills and the ability to identify and address changing and conflicting priorities and ability to use own initiative in a variety of situations is needed for the role. The client requires good project and time management skills with a demonstrable ability to contribute successfully to the improvement of the operational policy. Applicants must be Prince2 qualified (or equivalent project management qualification).

What you'll get in return

This is a full time six-month role with the possibility of an extension. The role is paying £222.57/day Premium PAYE or £250/day Umbrella LTD (annual salary equivalent = £50,500). This role falls in-scope of IR35 legislation.
