An Ofsted “GOOD” primary school is looking for a School Administrator to join them at the start of the new academic year. This friendly and inclusive school located in Bristol provides a safe and nurturing environment for all their children and staff.

Your new role

The role is full-time position; 8am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday starting in September. Working as a School Administrator / Receptionist you will need to combine your school administration experience and SIMS knowledge to support the school office, ensure the smooth running of the office and organise day-to-day activities. You will be operating SIMS to complete daily tasks, where you will be responsible for ensuring the recording of attendance data and reasons for absence of pupils and staff. You will provide a full range of secretarial skills include typing, copying, recording and filing as well handling telephone calls with sensitivity and confidence. Arranging meetings and sorting and distributing mail will also be your responsibility whilst ensuring the filing system is maintained.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have worked within a similar school administration role previously as knowledge of SIMS is essential. Confidence using ICT packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is also expected. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will be based front of house and will be expected to speak with children, parents and external visitors. You will be confident using your initiative and be well organised to manage a variety of different tasks throughout the day.
