Cell Line Development Scientist – Oxford Biotech

My client is a rapidly expanding Oxford-based Biotech looking for an experienced and ambitious cell biologist/molecular biologist to join their rapidly growing CMC group

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cell line development
  • Identifying/designing vectors for stable cell line generation
  • Perform cell culture (adherent / Suspension)
  • Write/revise/review SOP’s, risk assessments, protocols and reports.
  • Perform laboratory tasks including general housekeeping, equipment monitoring and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and methods within the Process Development and Manufacturing teams.
  • Good understanding of GLP/GxP
  • Present scientific data at internal CMC meetings.

The Candidate:

  • Educational Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc or Ph.D in Biological Sciences/Cell Biology
  • Cloning, primary cell culture, transfections, single cell cloning, cell characterisation, cell line stability
  • Experience of experimental design, e.g. using DoE software
  • Experienced in executing experiments using Ambr 15
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience of operating Ambr15 for clone selection, media optimisation and process development would be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy (including MS Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills.
