Your New Company

A professional and successful independent Opticians retailer based in Central London are seeking a Front of house Receptionist/Optical Advisor to join their team. Our client opened their store in 1985 and is well-established supplying a range of designer frames and sunglasses as well as the usual spectacles and contact lenses. In additions, within the store they have a floor dedicated to beauty treatment clinic including Botox and Fillers. You will work mainly on the sales floor within the Opticians but will be responsible for Administration duties for the clinic.

Your new role

As the front of house/receptionist and optical adviser you will be responsible to provide an efficient and professional service to both callers, visitors and staff members, coupled with providing a efficient administrative support to the business.

This role is split into 2 parts;

As a Front-Of-House receptionist you will be responsible for;
  • Meeting and Greeting clients
  • Booking online and manual appointments
  • Sorting, scanning and distribution of incoming post
  • Handling money – you will be required to take deposits over the phone
  • Filing
  • Handle customer enquiries with professionalism and care
  • Ad-hoc administration
  • Keeping reception area and store tidy
As an Optical Advisor you will be responsible for;
  • Making appointments
  • Handling adjustments and repairs
  • Dispensing
  • General Administration

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 1-2 years' experience working within an optical environment
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (all)
  • High attention to detail
  • Highly organised
  • Efficient
  • Able to multi-task
  • Flexible with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage conflicting priorities, effectively managing expectations when required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A positive, proactive approach
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Possess a confident, professional approach to tasks
  • Demonstrates a high level of commitment and is able to work in a busy environment.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive salary £18,000 - £19,000 dependant on experience
  • 30% staff discount
  • Monday – Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm.
