Regional Education Lead - Care

New opportunity as Regional Education Lead (Care) with Cambian Group.


Cambian Group is one of the UK's leading children's specialist education and behavioural health service providers. Founded in 2004, it has grown to become a significant partner to the UK public sector. The Group's services have a specific focus on children who present high severity needs with challenging behaviours and complex care requirements. Cambian looks after 2,100 children across a portfolio of 224 residential facilities, specialist schools and fostering offices located in England and Wales.


Hays are working in partnership with Cambian Group to recruit for two newly created roles as Regional Education Lead – Care. The Group has 12 residential schools for young people with a range of complex needs. The focus of these roles will be to work with a group of residential schools to oversee all aspects of care, ensuring they meet the standards and expectations contained in their Statement of Purpose as well as fully complying with regulatory requirements and recommendations.


You will work closely with staff at the schools, and the Regional Leads responsible for Education to:
• Ensure effective practices and policies are in place and adhered to for all aspects of care
• Ensure consistency of regulatory inspections and care standards through rigorous quality assurance and monitoring of standards
• Provide assistance and support to the provisions in relation to Child protection issues and other notifiable events
• Liaise with Cambian Group customers to ensure all quality assurance issues remain a key focus by regularly seeking their feedback on service provision
• Collate and co-ordinate management information to support the strategic development and improvement of care practices
• Provide inspiration, leadership, managerial guidance, direction and support to staff at all levels


Previous experience as Head of Care in a residential special school or Registered Manager of a Children’s Home with a minimum ‘Good’ Ofsted rating is essential. Experience of leading across multiple sites is desirable as is experience as an Ofsted inspector.


You must be motivated and ambitious for the young people and schools you will be working with. You must also be able to work on your own initiative and be able to recognise and act on opportunities to grow and develop the business.


The role can be either be home-based or from one of the schools in your region although it is expected that the majority of time will be spent working in schools. Part-time options can be considered.
