Job Purpose

This role will support the design and development of the BINS / BISL Risk & Control Framework and the maintenance / operation of the Framework once developed. In particular the role holder will support the Risk & Governance Managers in ensuring the efficient interactions of the framework with other parts of the BINS / BISL risk management model including that operated by other BINS / BISL business areas and the 2nd Line of Defence. The post holder will assist others in the BINS / BISL Control & Governance team in delivery of their duties, in particular around reporting to Senior Management and formal governance forums. The job holder will also provide support for low level incidents where required through ongoing tracking of action plans.

Ability to help develop and maintain relationships is also key to succeeding in the role – at all levels, across the company.

Accountabilities & Activities:

  • Support the design / development of aspects of the BINS / BISL Risk & Control Framework: Policies; Processes / control rating criteria; Mechanisms for inclusion of external indicators (regulators, 2nd and 3rd line view etc.)
  • To assist with the operation / maintenance of the BINS / BISL Risk & Control Framework
  • To assist BINS / BISL teams in their understanding of and how to use the BINS / BISL Risk & Control Framework
  • To help coordinate risk, control and governance activity with other 1st Line departments – across BINS teams
  • To assist in the tracking and mitigation of low level incidents in line with the BINS Incident management framework
  • To produce appropriate risk and control reporting to operational management; exec management and Boards as appropriate

Mandatory Qualifications / Accreditations

  • At least 5 years experience in an FCA regulated environment
  • Preferably working towards a risk or regulatory related qualification or qualified by experience
  • Experience of Microsoft applications
