Debt Recovery Officer

Debt Recovery Officer Job - West London - 12 month FTC - £32K

The purpose of this post is to recover client contributions due towards the cost of adult social care provided by the Council at home and in a residential setting. Also to assist the Income Collection Manager in increasing collection of arrears and current charges for adult social care. 

Your new role
The post holder will work with the with the Income collection Manager to improve collection rate and provide administrative and practical support in the debt recovery process. Other duties will involve chasing debt and processing payments, liaising with legal services to maximise recovery of arrears due unpaid charges for adult social care. Also answer Counter and Telephone enquiries as well as any other duties deemed reasonable and commensurate with the post

What you'll need to succeed
The post holder needs to demonstrate good knowledge of income collection and debt recovery within local authorities. Experience in the use of Debt Recovery systems and previous use of Document Management System is highly desirable. The successful candidate needs to have the ability to show initiative when required to work as an individual, and as part of a team, explain and respond to detailed issues in a clear and concise manner.
