SEN Teaching Assistant Jobs | West London | September Start | £60-70 p/day | School experience required

I have a number of Mainstream Secondary Schools within West London who are seeking SEN specialist teaching assistants to join their teams in September 2017 on a long-term basis.

I am currently working with a variety of secondary schools across West London who welcome teaching assistants with different experiences and backgrounds specialising in SEN to join their teams in September 2017. You will need to have experience supporting pupils with SEN such as Autism, Asperger’s, learning difficulties and/or BESD on both a 1-1 and small group basis.

The ideal candidates will have former involvement in running small group interventions and providing academic support up to GCSE level, particularly in English and Maths. As the students you will work with may have a range of social, emotional and behavioural conditions, you will need to be able to prepare fun and proactive activities to stimulate their learning and encourage progress in and out of the classroom.

The ideal applicant for this SEN Teaching Assistant job should:

  • Have previous experience of working with students with SEN in an educational environment
  • Hold grades C or above in English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and carers
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
  • Conform to school policies and procedures - safeguarding, welfare, health and safety, data protection and pastoral care
  • Undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that fosters the skills and talents of all students
  • Support the teaching of a curriculum that allows all students to achieve according to their ability
  • Be a patient and understanding supporter to vulnerable student
