A temporary Information Compliance and Policies Officer within Norwich at £15 per hour

A well-established public sector company are currently recruiting for a temporary Information Compliance and Policies officer.

Your new role
Your new role will be to develop and maintain policies and procedures regarding Data Protection and Freedom of Information, as well contribute to changes within the maintenance of any risk requirements. You will be maintaining the risk policy and procedures while overseeing all requests for information in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Data Protection Act 1998.

Your role will include maintaining records of access requests in relation to Section 29 and Section 35 Non-disclosure exemptions, data incidents and conducting appropriate investigations where appropriate for any breaches in conduct and report these to the Head of Professional Services.

This role will be liaising with all levels of seniority on a daily basis in regards to the correct handling of information, while keeping them informed of any needed interpretation and implementation of new or existing legislation. This role will include communicating with stakeholders on all matters relating to information compliance and risk management policies, and assisting with the training and development team with all required compliance training for staff. This will include running presentations and courses in preparation of meetings regarding information compliance. The responsibility in the role is high and if you needed will be required to draft, finalise and implement an agreed workflow procedure which will be followed by staff.

What you'll need to succeed
Your new role will be a compliance office, which require you to have extensive experience within Data Protection and the Freedom of Information acts, which will be represented by either a Practitioner or ISEB certificate in Data Protection or Freedom of information. While completing your role you will need to have professional and informative communication skills being able to liaise with all levels of seniority when conveying relevant information for any data requests. You will be passionate about keeping information secure regarding vulnerable children and adults and as such will have an up to date understanding of subject access requests. A degree within Business Management / Policy or Law is desirable but not essential. A DBS check will be required for this role.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a hourly rate equivalent to £29,000 per annum and be a key point of contact for the company.
